Anh Mai

Anh Mai is College Connection Academy's academic counselor. She is a strong advocate for first-generation students, being one herself. She graduated from Sacramento State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. While still in high school, she discovered her passion for working with at-risk youth by working as a youth mentor at the East Bay Asian Youth Center, located in Oakland, California. During her time at EBAYC, she helped design and establish a comprehensive system of support for 120 students, as well as overseeing instructional, and administrative operations.

Anh understands the importance of empowering youth and letting them know they have options. She guides youth toward a higher education and helps individual students map out their educational goals. She has a passion for  coordinating program-wide events, which include student orientations, parent meetings, college tours, youth retreats and field trips.

After graduating from college, Anh was an administrator for a private middle/high school in the Bay Area where she worked with a highly diverse student population. She currently holds an MA and Pupil Personnel Services Credential in Counselor Education from San Jose State University. She is dedicated to inspiring and creating opportunities for all youth to dream big and make safe and smart decisions.
