2023 -2024 Leadership "Green Team" Application Information
Will you be a leader in the school next year?
Do you have what it takes to be a student who will help make this coming year at College Connection Academy the best year ever?
The Green Team is an elite group of students who step up to the challenge of running many of the exciting events at College Connection Academy. Successful applicants must be committed to a leadership role at the school for the entire school year. These students must be responsible, dedicated, hard-working individuals that are looking for an opportunity to use their leadership skills to contribute to the quality of everyone’s experience at College Connection Academy.
If selected as a Green Team member, you will be placed in a unique and rewarding position of leadership in the school. Depending on the position that you are selected for, you may be involved in assisting teachers, administration, secretaries, parents, visitors to the school, and/or other students. You may also be in charge of organizing other students in order to meet the requirements of your position.
So what’s in it for you? Well, aside from the honor and prestige of being selected, you will be in for a fabulous year of FUN, TREATS, REWARDS, AND RETREATS! You will also receive training in leadership and communication skills.

- Next year's eighth graders, ask three CCA teachers to fill out the teacher recommendation form.

- You must demonstrate responsibility, and commitment, by completing this application on time.
- Show your enthusiasm by completing this application early!
- Fill-out the online google form and submitted on or before April 21st, 2023.

GREEN TEAM COMMITTEE CHAIRS
SPORTS EVENTS
We hold four sports tournaments a year. There are practice games followed by playoffs all held during lunch. You and your committee will plan and publicize these events with the assistance of the entire Green Team.
SCHOOL SPIRIT
We will hold three spirit weeks and four rallies throughout the year. You and your committee will be responsible for planning and publicizing these events with the assistance of the entire Green Team.
SCHOOL COMMUNITY
We will hold four CCA family events throughout the year. You and your committee will be responsible for planning and publicizing these events with the assistance of the entire Green Team. In addition, you and your committee will assist with the four CCA parent meetings, Open House, and other events held to promote CCA to the wider community.
MUSIC AND DANCES
We will hold five dances throughout the year. You and your committee will plan and publicize these events. Every Tuesday we will have music on the stage. You and your committee will plan the music for these lunches.
FRIDAY FUN EVENTS
We will hold eight Friday afternoon events. You and your committee will plan and publicize these events with the assistance of the entire Green Team.
FUNDRAISING
Plan one fundraising activity for each six week session. This is fundraising for CCA student activities. This money will be used to provide incentives and awards for CCA students, to send CCA leadership to CASL, and to provide assistance to those in our CCA community in times of need.
STUDENT STORE
Responsible for the Student Store. Responsible for the ordering of supplies for the store and all events. Responsible for the recording of all monetary transactions for both the store, the events, and the fundraising.
COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS
Plan a community service project for each six week session. These include a community garden, an Oxfam Hunger Banquet, holiday cards for seniors, stockings for the homeless, and others of your choice for the second semester.
ELECTED POSITIONS
These positions will be chosen in the fall, within two weeks of the opening of school. To seek an elected position, you must apply and be willing to serve on one of the above committees if you are not successful in the elections.
SCHOOLWIDE COORDINATOR EIGHTH GRADE AND SEVENTH COORDINATORS
Chair the leadership meetings, ensure that all the committees are progressing in their preparations for the events and projects they are responsible for throughout the year. Act as an ambassador for CCA with visiting parents, students, guest speakers, district officials, and members of the FMSD School Board. You will be responsible for creating public relations materials for CCA, such as a brochure, video, and flyers. Plan a CCA Open House for all FMSD sixth graders and their families in February.
