Dear College Connection Academy Community,
My name is Lisa Katimbang and it is an honor to be the Principal of College Connection Academy. Our commitment is to provide a safe and intellectually challenging learning environment for all of our students that will empower students to become innovative, creative, and inspired learners that will be able to compete in the twenty-first century.
I was born and raised in Southern California. My college journey began with attending California State University, Long Beach for my undergraduate degree in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations. Right after graduating with my Bachelor’s degree, I served overseas in the Middle East, near the Persian Gulf as a U.S. Army Reservist. Upon my return, I continued my education at CSU, Long Beach and was accepted into the Multiple Subject Credential Program. At the beginning of my career in Education, I pursued a graduate degree in Educational Leadership and Administration at Chapman University. During graduate school, I received a job offer in San Jose, CA with the Franklin McKinley School District to teach 6th grade. While teaching full time, I continued the graduate program. I moved onto 7th and 8th grade History and Science at College Connection Academy for one year before becoming the Academic Dean at CCA. In 2013, I received an opportunity to open up a 7-12 school in Santa Rosa, CA. The mission and vision of the program was to focus on college and career readiness for all of our students and to build community partnerships with the local community college and local businesses and organizations. These opportunities paved the way for the program, students, families, and other community members. After 4 years, I have now returned as the principal of College Connection Academy and am happy to be back to work with our community!
In my spare time, I am a mom to a 7, 5, and 1 year old that keep me very busy. It's never a dull moment at home! My husband and I love to travel with our kids and have them experience all life has to offer.
Please feel free to email me at: [email protected] or call the school office to meet with me at (408) 347-4827. Stop by and visit CCA during regular school hours.
Thank you for this opportunity to be a part of your community and work with your students!
Sincerely,
Ms. Lisa Katimbang
