Lisa’s college journey began with attending California State University, Long Beach for her undergraduate degree in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations. Right after graduating with her Bachelor’s degree, she served overseas in the Middle East, near the Persian Gulf as a U.S. Army Reservist. Upon her return, she continued her education at CSU, Long Beach and was accepted into the Multiple Subject Credential Program.
At the beginning of Lisa's career in Education, she pursued a graduate degree in Educational Leadership and Administration at Chapman University. During graduate school, she received a job offer in San Jose, CA with the Franklin McKinley School District to teach 6th grade. While teaching full time, she continued the graduate program and earned her M.A. in Educational Leadership and Administration. Then, she moved onto 7th and 8th grade History and Science at College Connection Academy for one year before becoming the Academic Dean at CCA.
In 2013, Lisa received an opportunity to open-up a 7-12 school in Santa Rosa, CA. The mission and vision of the program was to focus on college and career readiness for all of her students and to build community partnerships with the local community college and local businesses and organizations. These opportunities paved the way for the program, students, families, and other community members. After 4 years, sh has returned as the principal of College Connection Academy and is happy to be back to work with the community of San Jose. Lisa is currently attending UC Berkeley to further my education.
