Our gifted program is designed to meet the needs of students who learn in somewhat different ways from most other people. Gifted students may demonstrate higher levels of abstract thought and learn at an accelerated pace. They tend to generalize and see complex relationships in the world. They often show strong enthusiasm for material that stimulates their imagination. They may show a strong sensitivity to the immediate environment and a high level of alertness that may be misdiagnosed as a hyperactivity disorder. For many, there is a rich, often subtle, even droll, sense of humor that shows itself in the form of jokes, teasing, or puns.
